Both language paper essays are written, first edit and bibliographies of both sorted, just need to spent the next couple of days doing more editing, trying not to panic that it’s all wrong and staving off the desire to sleep because man I’m tired, then on Thursday the first paper that counts towards my degree is finished and handed in.

Le Morte d’Arthur (originally spelled Le Morte Darthur, Middle French for “the death of Arthur”) is a compilation by Sir Thomas Malory of Romance tales about the legendary King Arthur, Guinevere, Lancelot, and the Knights of the Round Table. The book interprets existing French and English stories about these figures, with some of Malory’s own original material. First published in 1485 by William Caxton, Le Morte d’Arthur is perhaps the best-known work of English-language Arthurian literature today. I got tagged by shoulderskneesandtoews (thank you!), so here are my answers to her questions:

1. Writing or reading?

Oooh, difficult. Well, I owe it to my degree to say reading. And without reading, I probably wouldn’t write, so…

2. You have one question to ask one person in the whole world (that is alive now or isn’t, fictional or not) - what would it be and to whom?

If it could be proven to others, I’d probably go and ask Shakespeare if he wrote his damn plays, just to prove it to all the people who say he didn’t. Or…I’d go and ask Marlowe to tell me about himself so I could find out the truth (and hope he’d tell me and not swear at me or something).

3. You have 24 hours of teleportation ability. What would you do?

Can I use it to bring people to others? Because then I’d go around taking people to see the people they really want to see, because I always feel guilty that I get to see the few people I really want to fairly often. And maybe stop off in New York just see it.

4. Least favourite song on an album you love

Hmm… Shake It Out from Ceremonials by Florence + and the Machine, even though it’s the song that made me discover the album. (I wanted to pick something off Seventeen Seconds by The Cure but they all work together too well to pick one).

5. Smile today <3

6. Last person you told you loved them

Umm, I ~~can’t~~ don’t. (But I do little gestures like trying to help people out/give them stuff which essentially boils down to that, in a weird way?)

Love it. It gives me a really specific warm feeling, if it’s a letter from someone rather than, I don’t know, a bank statement or something!

8. Is lying ever justified?

Yes (afgdskjh casual Hal/Poins feels…)

9. You have the chance to re-write one fictional character’s story. What would you do?

Rewrite the whole of English history by rewriting Hal’s ending in Henry IV/Henry V? That’s fine, right?

10. Find a quote that accurately described who you are or who you feel right now. You can’t explain it.

11. Do you like strawberries?

Yes! I’m not bothered with much fruit, but I like berries and apples.
